Chatswood NSW driver route January 2022

This is a full route I observed w/c 3rd January 2022. A very easy route for a manual or automatic driver.

The route commences at the Services NSW centre, left onto Victoria Rd, right at Stanley St, right at Albert Ave, left at Archer St, Left at Mowbray Rd, left at Holland St.

At this point, the instructor should ask for a kerb stop.

Then right at Johnson St, right at Stanley St, left at Fry St, right at Sydney St, left at Laurel St, left at Mabel St.

At this point, the instructor should ask for a 3-point turn.

Then left at Laurel St, left at Penshurst St, right at Forsyth St, right at High St, Left at McClelland St, left at Eastern Valley Way, left at Smith St, left at High St, right at Victoria Ave, and return to Services NSW.

This is an easy course with no particularly difficult sections. Lots of single-lane roundabouts, stop signs, multi-choice turn left at lights situations.

Hazard callouts -

- 40km zone down Victoria Rd (to a signposted point)

- right turn onto Stanley can get a bit busy (and cannot be performed during peak traffic hours)

- left onto Archer has a crossing - I'm sure this is a particular point of interest

- right onto Mowbray from Archer - I would suggest turning to left-most lane, as the next left turn is only 3 streets away and chances of cars in left lane is low.

- the right-left, right-left at the Fry St run is pretty standard fare, speed bumps, lots of looking around for cars and pedestrians

- the left from Laurel onto Penshurst can get a bit busy on Penshurst - be careful of pedestrians

- be super careful crossing High St - it can be really busy!

- from McClelland onto Eastern Valley Way, just turn into the left lane. If there are parked cars, fine, go into right and then move back over to left

- Smith St near Bunnings can be pretty hectic - be careful there

- turning right from High St onto Victoria can also be busy - watch it

The intersection Penshurst & Victora is the busiest intersection ever - you might not even make it through without 2 light cycles. Don't run the lights, anticipate that they will change. Stay in the right lane.

- buses - a fair number of these roads have been chosen for the potential hazards such as tight streets and buses coming the other way and turning in front of you. Wait for them, but don't obstruct traffic. Unnecessary hesitation is an instant fail
